Did anyone ever get in touch with you regarding the download? I wouldn't be able to say if "it was just your computer" or not. A suggestion would be to write a comment about the problem you've experienced with the grant programs. Post them at Idilogic on Aidpage. You can reach it from my links on the top right on my page. Wishing you well.
On or around the fourteenth of June my husband and I decided to barbeque. With that, he had to open the storeroom outside to get a few things to use. Later he put everything away, and noticed nothing amiss. He closed the storeroom door and locked it up. The following weekend we decided to celebrate our anniversary a few days early by going out to eat and to a movie. But, he got sick that weekend, and by Tuesday (our anniversary) was at the doctors office. Wednesday he was in the hospital and stayed for nine days. He finally got out by the afternoon of July 3rd. That was a week and a day ago.
One day before going to the hospital to visit my husband, I sat outside to meditate for a while and thought heard a cat mew. Then, I noticed a flash of something (a paw) come through the little crack in the storeroom door. I went over, listened, peeked inside, and nothing was there. I thought I was imagining things. (We have a large stray cat population and they are always popping up in odd places outside.) I shrugged it off, thinking I was just worrying for nothing. Then I completely forgot the incident.
Well today, about 9:30 this morning I was on the way to the grocery store. On the porch I stopped because I heard a cat crying again. This time I got a strange feeling so went in, got the storeroom key and opened it up. I peered in again, but saw nothing. I went inside, opened a can of grilled chicken fancy feast, got a fresh bowl of water and went back to the shed. I placed the food and water inside and suddenly a little head appeared in the back of the room. I stepped back, and waited, but when I peeked in again, the poor calico ran behind some stuff again. It took awhile but he came out, as I kept moving the bowl, and he kept running away. Also, I placed the water a longer distance from him, and gave him a peek. Finally the poor thirsty cat came out of the building to drink the water. I slammed the door shut. That cat drank every drop of water in the bowl, and gobbled every morsel of food.
From approximately June 14th to July 11th that cat had been in the storage building. That's about 25 or 26 days! How's that for one of it's nine lives. That's one lucky cat! I felt so bad for the kitty. I think I'll adopt it, but will have to sneak the food and water and stand guard because there's a whole population out there. Plus, we have an inside cat that is my husbands pride and joy. She's a spoiled Himalayan named Mia. While the calico was starving in the storeroom, I was taking my cat in to get groomed and shots. How's that for social injustice.
The Japanese say the calico is the luckiest of all. I believe it. I think I'll call this kitty Lucky...

ps_ there's a family in the neighborhood that reguraly feeds the stray cats, so I know the others won't starve while I'm standing guard for Lucky.
In the effort to learn about website design and business strategy for web marketing, I ran across the page above (click the link to visit). I thought it would be beneficial for this audience because it offers such a wide range of great information, such things as how to write effective copy, serif size and readability, stickiness, graphic protocol to speak to the widest audience, and so forth. And, did you know that some browsers won't open if the font is inappropriate or too small? I didn't.
Loving art, I tend to get over dramatic with images. I really am not concerned about graphic usability on this blog. Perhaps I should be concerned when using it on blogspot, and certainly on my future business website. And, not only do I want readers to gain something, I want them to first find the site, and enable it to open correctly when they do, even if it's from their Blackberry.
Anyway, this particular site (A-K Strategic Solutions) is outstanding and constantly keeping up to date with its technology alerts. Very necessary reading...
"You may well ask: 'Why direct action? Why sit-ins, marches and so forth? Isn't negotiation a better path?'
You are quite right in calling for negotiation. Indeed, this is the very purpose of direct action. Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue.
It seeks so to dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored."
What a disgrace! It is so amazing how "able bodied" people don't understand what hurting people are going through. You have a terrific outlook though. You're an inspiration. Blessings,
Having your kids, and going to school is very imporatant. And if you have a will, you can find a way.
I do know that in this country, if you have children at home, you have resources that others (like single men, single women who don't have kids at home) don't have.
There's a lady at Aidpage who has amazing links and resources. She's called Soulight. Check her out, and the people in her community links (Aidpage).
Please don't give up. I like the saying - this too shall pass. And we all know that life has twists and turns, and around the bend there is hope. Keep going, okay?

Recently Charlie Rose had the guest, A. G. Lafley, CEO of Procter & Gamble (P&G). Following the show were several posts which called into question the lack of bio-degradable products, tax incentive for locating their new plant in Utah, and Mr. Rose dropping the ball by allowing these points to slide. While these are valid topics for discussion, the objective of the interview revolved around “marketing” and how “innovation” is used by P&G successfully. Charlie Rose clarified the purpose quickly with ‘So it is primarily about innovation’ and asked “What is Innovation?” If we can think along this premise as we watch, we may hear more about marketing innovation and gain valuable insight.
According to Wikipedia: “Innovation is typically understood as the successful introduction of something new and useful, for example introducing new methods, techniques, or practices or new or altered products and services.” Webster dictionary calls innovation “a new idea, method, or device.” A synonym may be novelty. Today the actual word ‘innovation’ is used to sell expensive cars, market high speed Internet, prompt consumers to use gadgets that are tricky to install, and so on. It signifies current development, but never goes out of style. P&G regards innovation as something else.
As business owners seeking deserved attention from would be buyers, we must find innovative ways to rise above the rest. To loosely quote Mr. Lafley, ‘Like it or not, this world is a smaller, flatter place, is less predictable, with bigger changes. Innovation has to play a role. We must become more agile, flexible, and more educated.’ Furthermore he adds, ‘In the end - you don’t have an innovation until she {or he} is willing to part with her {or his} hard earned cash for that new product or service.’ Please listen (click the top link in the post) with the purpose of clarifying innovation for yourself, and how it fits into marketing your own business.

Although I have an online business, I am not going to make a habit of writing this kind of stuff here at Aidpage. But, I thought, there are those who have blogs, businesses, and other interests online, who don't have a huge advertising budget, so I want to share this information with others here, too. Perhaps it will be helpful to you.
If you have an online business, why pay for SEO when you don't have to? Do you want to be seen online? Sure you do! Get the word out with the following SEO sites for Free to do just that. Why pay for Internet search engine optimization when you can submit for free? Below is a list of websites that are free to submit your URL. Each and every time their spiders crawl, if you are listed, yours will be included. Before I told you about this list, I spent the time submitting my blogs and (sort of) business.
Keep in mind, when you visit these sites you have to find the appropriate place (free) to submit your URL. Some sites will not allow you to use your forwarded links, so give your regular link. I’ll add more to the list later because I just can’t do them now. I have to check ‘em out before I publish them…
PS - if you have a blog here at Aidpage, don't be shy about adding it to the SEO sites too. Have fun! m_99
This is good information to help people become informed about what grants are, how to get them, where and why to look, and what's involved in the process. Thanks for this!
From the research I have done, I am beginning to understand why, when organizations place a request for a grant, it is a collaborative effort. That is, many of the staff get involved in the steps of finding, qualifying, collecting, verifying, and writing the draft, as well as checking, and changing as needed, before anything is turned into for final approval and before it is finally drafted and signed off on, then submitted by the deadline imposed by the grants committee. No easy task...
There are many steps, the first being - identifying the appropriate grant for your stated purpose. I read an article yesterday on a public broadcast site regarding a grant they are going to be giving. The stipulations were immense, and it became clear that matching the purpose with the requirements is a job in itself.
The first step in locating a grant is you must define your purpose. This is done by clarifying the purpose of your project by writing a concise mission statement. Once accomplished, seek funding that is a match for your project, including who will benefit, and how the grant money will be applied to meet the stated purpose. That's just in the preliminary phase, and the work hasn't even begun in processing the application.
So, I am wondering, as I am only one person, do I have the ability to identify, locate, define, collect, and process such a request, alone? I don't know.
I have been given a couple tools called the Federal Money Retriever and another called the Grant Gate. These are two databases which contain a huge number of institutions, both private,non-profits,and governmental sources which are in the business of giving grants to causes. Some contain grants only to organizations, some will give monies to individuals. What is important, as I see it, is the tools are instrumental in the search. They've taken a lot of information and made it possible for someone to locate the right grants, and research these as well.
There's a lot of hubbub on the internet about "getting a grant", such as, the Lesco fiasco. Basically, Matthew Lesco is a consultant who has put together a lot of information to sell to people who do not know anything about grants. People think when buying his products that they will be able to get a grant, simply by buying his products. This is incorrect. People are so desperate for funding, and hear all the fantastic stories, that they will take the risk by spending money (often money they can't really spare) to become in the know. The problem with this is, once you get the book, you quickly see, it is a bunch of information that doesn't tell you much more than you knew already. And half the phone numbers are outdated or bogus. Years ago I purchased Matthew Lesco's book on grants. I found it to be silly and not very helpful in understanding what one has to do to find a grant, let alone write an application for a grant. Most of what he wrote in there was horse sense, and I think that's what he used to fool people (me included) into purchasing his materials. The truth is, finding a grant is very hard work, and the process in getting a grant is harder still.
That's the beauty in the tools I mentioned. There's no other products anywhere, that takes the stress out of the search as these do. The databases are loaded with GOOD information and direction, and if one is very vigilant, finding the correct grant is made a lot easier. Then your work really begins! So I say, don't be fooled into buying useless junk when you can obtain (for free!) the Federal Money Retriever and the Grant Gate, here at Aidpage.
Now all I have top do is get my courage up to achieve what I have been dreaming of doing.
To learn about the Federal Money Retriever, and the Grant Gate go to:
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." ~Melody Beattie
So, I just came on board. Wow. I love Aidpage! I am seeking grant funding and just talked to a friend who knows a lot about finding, writing, submitting, and gaining a grant. I don't know if I am encouraged, amazed, or afraid of it. There's too much expertise involved for my small brain. I guess it's like the inch worm - inch by inch it's a cinch. Or remembering that Rome wasn't built in a day...something like that. But, I esteem some people angels without wings and less the halos.
